GLEE Wants Broadway Star Idina Menzel

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Tony-winning Broadway star Idina Menzel is in talks to take on a recurring role in upcoming episodes of GLEE.

Although some fans have lobbied for Menzel to play the mother of Rachel Berry (Lea Michele), the role will be that of the coach to the rival glee club Vocal Adrenaline. Menzel is expected to appear in all nine remaining episodes of Season 1.

She's not the only Broadway actor to be showing up on GLEE. Jonathan Groff will be appearing in a multi-episode arc as the lead male vocalist of Vocal Adrenaline. The character is also possibly going to be a love interest for Rachel.
